5G network service launched in 13 cities:
The country's 5G services were officially inaugurated on October 1, 2022 in India by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. Here "G" stands for Generation, that is, it is the Fifth Generation Network service. It was launched at the 6th edition of India Mobile Congress 2022 held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced setting up of 100 5G technology laboratories in the country. He also informed that at least 12 of them 5G technology laboratories will be used to train and experiment the students.
According to Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, India will play a leading role in 5G. India is the planned successor to 5G and will probably be faster.

It is a major networking event in the technology sector of India. India Mobile Congress 2022 was organized from 1st October to 4th October 2022. It was organized with the theme New Digital Universe. Large cities with 5G network in India:
5G services will be started in the country in a phased manner. The 13 cities where 5G network will be launched first include Bengaluru, Gurugram, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Kolkata, Mumbai, Jamnagar, Pune and Lucknow.
Important metro cities like Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata will be the first to get 5G service. Reliance Jio plans to start 5G service by Diwali 2022. Rest of the country will get 5G network by December 2023.

Countries where 5G has been recently launched include Argentina, Bhutan, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Malta and Mauritius. 5G services have started in 60+ countries of the world.
Difference between 5G and 4G networks:
5G network: 5G uses very high radio frequencies of 28 GHz.
5G Network: 5G transfers data at a faster rate, with a possible download speed of 20 Gbps. The base station of 5G is small cell.
5G network: 5G has low latency, that is, there is a delay before the data transfer starts after the instruction. The latency for 5G is predicted to be below 10 milliseconds and up to around 1 millisecond in best cases.
5G Network: 5G uses millimeter wave spectrum which enables more devices to be used within the same geographic area supporting approximately one million per square kilometer.
